A global tier 1 automotive supplier utilizes the Argonaut based Track and Trace application to achieve product process data genealogy and birth certificate records. The customer was working to standardize processes used to implement collection of data for high-value assemblies. Existing applications had issues with scalability, performance and expandability to future applications.
Selecting Argonaut Track and Trace, an initial Proof of Concept was launched on a recently installed line over a weekend. The PoC was successful in providing serial numbers, marrying components, and collecting process data to create a digital birth certificate.
An official launch later followed, where complete integration with the existing SAP ERP systems, label printers and various custom test machines was completed. Within two years, over ten plants are integrated to collect and validate data, networked and linked across their global enterprise and enabling real-time access to performance and production management dashboards.
Today, data is shared between facilities, passing from CNC machining operations to measurement and inspection to final assembly solutions. This ability to aggregate data from separate facilities has enabled several machine learning implementations and proven the previously impossible possible.
